Tasks

We (those who attended regularly) are kind of at the stage where task based learning (TBL) and problem based learning (PBL) will develop your electrons skills efficiently.

So In future I think that’ll be a beneficial thing to do in ‘class’, give you a task to perform and you assemble the electronics in such a way as to accomplish the task or solve the problem. ALL the tasks will appear on this single post (most recent at the bottom)

Task 1) Use the distance sensor to sweep an angle in front of the sensor between angles of +80o to -80o, and locate the nearest object. Then, get the distance sensor to ‘lock on’ to that object, and display the results on the LED display module, producing a beep sound and a flashing LED should the object be within 10cm of it. Document what you do.

Task 2) There you go, that’s a ULN2803AGP IC. Do something with it. Impress me. You can ask me for a few more supporting components. (You should pre-prepare in advance of class for this one). Document what you do.

Task 3) And here is a SN 74HC595N IC. Impress me more. (You should pre-prepare in advance of class for this one). Document what you do.

Task 4) Lets try and record temp and humidity (you have a temperature and humidity sensor) in class using an Arduino UNO and a USB connection to a laptop – this will be live data recording. La1ter, we can do this with an SD-card module attached to the UNO to store the data. A card reader can be used to later import the data into a laptop to process the data. Document what you do.
